Frequently asked questions

Here are the answers to the most commonly asked questions about WFGIA and TFA insurance requirements and the Agent's E&O Insurance Program.

General

As an agent, you are required to carry E&O insurance coverage. WFGIA and TFA have partnered with Marsh to manage an exclusive program, specifically designed to meet WFGIA and TFA insurance requirements.

All Agents of WFGIA and its subsidiary agencies with an active provider appointment and all representatives of TFA are required to have E&O Insurance from Marsh through one of our two carrier options (US Speciality/Houston Casualty Company, or biBerk). Participation in this program is mandatory pursuant to your Associate Membership Agreement (AMA) or Agent Agreement in all states except New York.

Marsh, the world’s leading insurance broker and risk advisor, specializes in designing customized insurance solutions. Our job is to simplify managing your business insurance so your business can thrive.

Call or email the Marsh Service Center, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. CT to request a copy of your documents.

If you have a policy through biBerk, you can access your policy documents online here. Please note: In order to access your biBerk documents online, you must first create an account using the invitation emailed to you after binding your policy.

Call or email the Marsh Service Center, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. CT for billing and coverage questions.

To make changes to your biBerk policy or payment, you can reach biBerk’s service team at (855)430-7220 or via email at partneragentservice@biberk.com.

A retroactive date is a date agreed on by you and your current insurance company. Any work done by you before the retroactive date will not be covered under your current policy or this policy.

If you are completing the application to bind a policy with biBerk, you will be asked to provide your retroactive date. If you currently have coverage with US Specialty through the Marsh program, your retroactive date is the date of when you first contracted with Transamerica/WFG as long as your current policy has been continuous without lapse. If there was a lapse in coverage, the retroactive date would be the date of the most recent policy inception after the lapse.

For NY Agents, the retroactive date on your existing policy can be found on the Declarations page.
