MarshWings aviation insurance, designed for Canadian pilots and aircraft owners, is intended to provide broad, comprehensive coverage for aircraft owners and pilots. Marsh has drawn upon our specialty aviation expertise to develop these coverages to help private pilots and aircraft owners find insurance that best meets their needs.
Marsh’s aircraft hull & liability “all risks flight and ground” coverage offers comprehensive protection, including hull damage, liability, and various optional coverages. It covers a wide range of situations, with specific terms and conditions.
Marsh’s aircraft liability coverage offers liability coverage that follows you for any aircraft you may own, rent, or borrow, as well as ground not-in-motion physical damage coverage for an aircraft you own. Non-owned physical damage liability coverage is also available for an aircraft you do not own.
To qualify for coverage, you must meet the following requirements:
- Your primary residence must be in Canada.
- Your aircraft must be privately registered in Canada and intended for private business and pleasure only.
- The aircraft must not exceed a maximum seating capacity of seven passengers, excluding the pilot.
- You must hold the appropriate pilot licence or permit for the aircraft you are operating.

The MarshWings program does not cover certain aircraft categories, balloons, gliders, hang-gliders, airships, paragliders, hovercraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, and very light jets.
It is also not available for commercially registered aircraft.

Your certificate of liability insurance is located on the first page of your MarshWings policy. We recommend printing several copies to keep in your aircraft, hangar, home, and office for easy access. You can also visit your account online to obtain your documents.

Yes, you do. Our program is designed to ensure every account receives the best possible pricing based on their individual merits. Our program captures the lowered exposure to insurers by having a solo pilot which reduces the insurance costs to purchaser.
In addition to all of Canada, your coverage extends to the Continental United States and Alaska, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Mexico, the Caribbean, and the Bahamas, as well as while traveling between these places.
No, MarshWings only covers aircraft registered in Canada, with the exception of U.S. registered aircraft being ferried to Canada. Please note, for ferry flight coverage to apply, you must provide full details of the ferry flight to MarshWings prior to the flight.
